HOW DO I SET UP A KITCHEN OR A STATION PRINTER?

If you have multiple printers, you can set them to print separate tickets and receipts. For instance, you can have a dedicated printer in your kitchen that prints out tickets for food as your front-of-house staff take orders, while your bar staff receive drinks orders.

First, you need to make sure that all your printers are connected to the iPad you’re using to run the Nobly app. You can find out how to do this here.

SETTING UP A KITCHEN PRINTER

  1. Once you’re sure all your printers are connected to Nobly, go to the Nobly app and open up the “Settings” menu. 
  2. Open up “Printer Settings.” Tap on the name of the printer you want to use as a kitchen printer -- it might be a good idea to print off a test receipt to check that you’ve got the right printer. 
  3. Toggle the “Kitchen Ticket” switch in the “Printers Stations” list.

Once you’ve done this, you can select certain items (or categories of item) that get sent or don’t send to this printer. For instance, you can choose to send only food orders to the kitchen.

You can set up two more printers to work like this in the same way, and select products (or categories of product) to get sent to that printer when an order with that item is taken. For instance, a restaurant that has a dedicated bar could set up drinks orders to arrive there instead of in the kitchen.
